Murray baseball Sweeps Judge Memorial To End Their Three Game Series.
Murray and Judge Memorial played a back and forth affair on Wednesday, but Murray Spartans eventually prevailed 7-5 after taking the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at two with Murray batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kai Sylvester singled off of A Neimann, driving in one run.
Despite falling down by five runs in the fifth inning, Judge Memorial tried to fight back. Judge Memorial scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by T Riley in the sixth and a single by Riley in the seventh.
Judge Memorial took an early lead in the second inning. With two outs in the second inning N Callahan drove in one run when he singled.
Easton Brinton earned the win for Murray. He tossed seven innings, allowing five runs, eight hits, striking out ten, and walking only one. Brinton also had a double at the plate. Neimann took the loss for Judge Memorial. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs, ten hits, and striking out one.
Murray had 13 hits in the game. Kam Myrberg, Cash Larsen, and Pierce Kettering each collected multiple hits for Murray. Stockton Madsen and Drew Staley each drove in two runs to lead Murray to a senior night win, wrapping up region play with a first place finish and a 15-3 record against region competition.
