Spartan Swim joined over 300 swimmers in Heber for the Wasatch Winter Invite. In addition to the host school, Wasatch High, Murray competed with Lone Peak, Springville, Box Elder, Viewmont, and West Jordan. The Spartan girls team had a particularly strong meet finishing in third place with 211 of the 355 point total for Murray. Bolstered by the girls, the Spartans also seized third place in combined scoring. A great showing by Murray!
With 29 individual points, Eden Preston was the top scorer for the girls team. She won the 500 free with a time of 5:40.74, shattering her former PR by nearly 10 seconds. She also placed third in the 200 free with an improvement of 2 seconds under her best time.
Morgan Underwood scored 24 individual points including third place in the 200 IM. With a time of 2:24.12, she bested her former PR by nearly 4 seconds.
Kelle Baer and Oaklee Greenland each contributed 22 individual points. Kelle raced to third in the 50 free with a new PR of 26.43. Oaklee claimed fifth in both the 200 IM and 500 free.
Individual points were also racked up by Heide Bleizeffer (18), Tylee Peak (14), Brooke Horton (6), Sierra Peterson (2), Beth Laver (1), Alejandra Uvario (1), Sarah Walton (1), and Izzy Wright (1). The A relay teams combined for the remaining 70 points of the girls score.
Soren Selph led the boys team with 24 individual points. Sprinting to fourth place in both of his freestyle events, he notched PRs of 23.26 in 50 yards and 51.04 in 100 yards.
Cooper Greene added 21 individual points including fourth place in the 100 back.
Individual points were also contributed by Holden Cheney (15), Cameron Wright (9), Lincoln Yospe (9), Devin Jessop (3), and Eric Thackeray (3). The A relay teams combined for the remaining 60 points of the boys score.
