Spartan Swimming, Varsity Swimming · Spartans Drop Contest to West

At a competitive away meet, the boys and girls combined for a score of 255 Murray vs. West 323.

Gavin Holmberg (Fr.), Cameron Wright (Sr.), Holden Cheney (Jr.), and Eric Thackeray (Sr.) teamed up for another win in the medley relay, nearly 7 seconds ahead of West.  Murray fell short in the rest of the relays but pulled out some exciting finishes in individual events.

Cameron Wright (Sr.) separated from an evenly-matched rival in the closing strokes of the 100 breast.  He grabbed the win and a season best time.

Tylee Peak (Jr.) raced the 100 breast instead of her signature freestyle events.  Leading the entire way, she scored first place and set a new PR.

Devin Jessop (So.) won his first 500 free and cut his best time by almost 4 seconds.  Coming from behind, he caught the leader at 350 yards and never looked back.

Gavin Holmberg (Fr.) had another dominant performance in the 100 back, swimming unchallenged.

Kalie Lam (Fr.) was flanked by two solid swimmers throughout the 100 free.  Stretching for the wall in a photo finish, the scoreboard revealed Lam as the winner by 0.01 second.

Congrats swimmers. Good luck at the next meet!
