Spartan Swimming, Varsity Swimming · Girls Swim Team Dominant Against Jordan

In the first home meet of the season, Murray raced another 6A challenger in Jordan High. Spartan Swim looked impressive with boys and girls combining for a score of Murray 197 vs. Jordan 143.

The girls team exhibited depth, winning 6 of 8 individual events and sweeping the relays. Senior Uso Tagoa’i was top scorer with 16 points. Setting two new PRs, she achieved comfortable wins in both the 100 back and 50 free. She also swam the freestyle and lead-off legs on the winning relay teams for the 200 medley and 400 free.

Murray girls boasted four more first-place swimmers among their point leaders:
Stephanie Poprzenovic (14) – 200 IM
Tylee Peak (13) – 100 breast
Kalie Lam (13) – 500 free
Alejandra Uvario (11) – 200 free

Team points were also earned by Sara Gratton, Brooke Horton, Sarah Walton, Riley Thompson, Sierra Peterson, Maryn Stone, Izzy Wright, Rylee Snow, Lauren Bernstein, Malialani Hull, and Sarah Taylor.

On the boys team, senior Holden Cheney led with 13 points including first in the 50 free and lead-off leg on the winning 200 free relay. High scores were also posted by Lincoln Yospe (12) and Gavin Holmberg (9) from their solid wins in the 200 IM and 100 free respectively.

Team points were also contributed by Ethan Leonard, Devin Jessop, Tyler Jacobsen, Teagan Drury, Joey Horne, Will Taylor, Liam Morris, Caden Selph, Matthew Uvario, and Case Elliott.
