Spartan swimmers brought their speed to Steiner Aquatic Center with boys and girls combining for a score of 196.5 Murray vs. 136.5 East.
Murray relay teams set the tempo, kicking off the meet and closing out the night with a pair of wins:
Girls 200 medley – Uso Tagoa’i, Brooke Horton, Kalie Lam, Tylee Peak
Boys 200 medley – Gavin Holmberg, Holden Cheney, Devin Jessop, Lincoln Yospe
Girls 400 free – Kalie Lam, Alejandra Uvario, Stephanie Poprzenovic, Uso Tagoa’i
Boys 400 free – Gavin Holmberg, Ethan Leonard, Devin Jessop, Lincoln Yospe
Lincoln Yospe (Sr.) earned a team-high 16 points, anchoring the winning relays and leading the way in his individual events. He recorded season-best times in both the 200 IM and 100 back.
Point leaders for the boys squad picked up three additional wins:
Devin Jessop (13) – 200 free
Gavin Holmberg (13) – 500 free
Holden Cheney (11) – 100 fly
Team points were also scored by Ethan Leonard (9), Michael Correa (7.5), Micah Black (7.5), and Will Taylor (6.5) in addition to Tyler Jacobsen, Teagan Drury, Joey Horne, Tyler Oviatt, Robert Jorgensen, Matthew Uvario, Case Elliott, and Liam Morris.
Kalie Lam (So.) led the girls team with 14 points, swimming on the top relay teams and holding out for first place in the 500 free. By cutting 7 seconds from her former PR, she clocked under 6 minutes for the first time.
Two point leaders for the girls team also raced to an individual win:
Brooke Horton (11.5) – 200 IM
Izzy Wright (9.5) – 100 breast
Team points were also scored by Uso Tagoa’i (12), Tylee Peak (10), Stephanie Poprzenovic (8), Alejandra Uvario (7), Riley Thompson (6.5), and Sarah Walton (6.5) in addition to Lauren Bernstein, Maryn Stone, Sara Gratton, Janissa Montilla, Elen Robles, Sierra Peterson, and Rylee Snow.
