On this special night, we recognized each of our 15 amazing seniors: Holden Cheney, Michael Correa, Nele Deback, Sara Gratton, Karsen Kercher, Ethan Leonard, Matt Meyers, Tyler Oviatt, Tylee Peak, Uso Tagoa’i, Riley Thompson, Ally Uvario, Rachel Wilcox, Izzy Wright, and Lincoln Yospe. Thank you to all Spartan Swim supporters of the MHS Class of 2020!
The Murray girls team looked sharp during another winning performance: Murray 96 vs. Highland 73. In combined scoring, boys and girls were narrowly overtaken: Murray 162 vs. Highland 174.
Spartan girls dominated the 200 medley relay with the A team outpacing Highland by 7.6 seconds: Uso Tagoa’i, Izzy Wright, Kalie Lam, Tylee Peak
Uso Tagoa’i (Sr.) scored a team-high 15 points. She held off the same Highland pursuer in both the 50 free and 100 free, sweeping her individual events for the fifth time this season.
Kalie Lam (So.) earned 13 points, comfortably winning the 100 fly and improving her personal best by 0.15 seconds.
Ally Uvario (Sr.) scored 11 points, stroking to first place in a closely contested 500 free. With her own teammates pushing the pace, she crushed a two-year PR by 44 seconds.
Team leaders for the girls included Brooke Horton (8), Tylee Peak (7), Sarah Walton (7), Stephanie Poprzenovic (7), Sara Gratton (6.5), Izzy Wright (6), and Sierra Peterson (5.5). Points were also scored by Riley Thompson, Rylee Snow, Maryn Stone, Emma Brimley, Rachel Wilcox, and Lauren Bernstein.
Lincoln Yospe (Sr.) and Devin Jessop (Jr.) shared a team-high 12 points for the boys. Yospe rolled in the 100 back, winning by a large margin. Jessop picked up another win in the 500 free, lapping all competitors.
High scores for the boys included Holden Cheney and Gavin Holmberg, sharing 9 points. Joey Horne, Will Taylor, Ethan Leonard, Tyler Jacobsen, Case Elliott, Liam Morris, Matthew Uvario, Micah Black, and Tyler Oviatt also scored for the team.
