Spartans News · MHS Tennis Drops Tight Contest with Highland, Sweeps Granger


On Thursday evening, the rain held off long enough for Murray’s road match-up with Highland where Murray fell 3-2 in a hard fought battle on the road.

In 1st Singles, Erik Marchant dropped a heartbreaking 3rd Set tiebreaker after roaring back from a 5-1 deficit in the 3rd set.  4-6, 6-3, 6-7

At 2nd Singles, Mason Marchant’s steady play was enough to beat Andrew Paulson 6-4, 6-4.

Jacob Miranda fell 2-6, 2-6 to Andrew Olsen in the 3rd Singles slot.

In 1st Doubles, Hugh Smith and Alton Kluse lost the first set before dropping the hammer, winning 2-6, 6-0, 6-4.

The 2nd Doubles combo of Jack Bowen and Carson Andrew were unable to overcome Spencer Hall and Will Clawson, losing 2-6, 1-6.

2nd Doubles: Jack Bowen and Josh Harding won 6-2, 7-6
