The Spartans traveled to #1 ranked Viewmont on Thursday in the quarterfinal of the state playoffs. Both teams battled in a hard fought, physical game. The game stayed deadlocked all the way through regulation with both teams creating quality chances. With just a couple minutes left in the second overtime Murray came up with the special play that would be the difference in the game. Emily Thai won the ball and set up Karime Antonio who scored the game winning goal. Alexis Bates and the rest of the Spartans did enough to earn the shutout on the day in a 1-0 win.
The Spartans move on to the semifinals of the state playoffs where they will take on region foe Olympus at Rio Tinto on Tuesday.
