Murray High Varsity Baseball nabbed the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Stansbury on Monday. The game was tied at three with Murray High Varsity Baseball batting in the bottom of the fifth when a sacrifice bunt by Davis Foster scored one run for Murray High Varsity Baseball.
Murray High Varsity Baseball opened up scoring in the second inning when Ian Winterhalder singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
In the top of the fourth inning, Stansbury tied things up at three when Cayden Clark doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Isaac Norton led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Murray High Varsity Baseball. He surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two. Ian Winterhalder entered the game on the mound in the later innings and silenced the Stansbury bats and secured the win for Murray.
Tyler Harris was on the pitcher’s mound for Stansbury. He allowed three hits and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out three. Peyton Thevenot and Carter Philpot entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.
Kaden Boyle went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Murray High Varsity Baseball in hits. Murray High Varsity Baseball didn’t commit a single error in the field.
