Murray Spartans got out to a five-run lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over Skyridge on Tuesday. Skyridge scored four runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Marisa Bowman and a home run by Rachel Billings.

Skyridge scored four runs in the seventh inning, but Murray Spartans still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Skyridge came thanks to home runs by Bowman and Billings.

In the second inning, Murray Spartans got their offense started. Alyssa McDonald singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Kelle Baer earned the win for Murray Spartans. She allowed seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three.

Alexis Atcitty took the loss for Skyridge. She went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

Murray Spartans tallied one home run on the day. McDonald had a long ball in the sixth inning.

Murray Spartans tallied ten hits on the day. Madi Kaneko, Oakleigh Harman, Kaylee Lundeen, and McDonald all collected multiple hits for Murray Spartans. McDonald, Lundeen, Harman, and Kaneko each managed two hits to lead Murray Spartans.

Marne Freeman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Skyridge in hits. Skyridge was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hunter Bringhurst had the most chances in the field with ten.
